Responsible Gambling – Play with Control and Awareness
Betting and casino are entertainment. When managed properly, provides fun and occasionally profit. But for small percentage of players, can transform into problem affecting finances, relationships and mental health.
Twin recognizes this reality. Though we operate gambling platform, we have responsibility to promote healthy usage and provide tools for those who need them. This page isn't legal formality — it's genuine resource to help you maintain control.
If you play occasionally for fun, within budget you can afford to lose without stress, excellent. If you start feeling gambling controls you instead of opposite, help is available. Recognition is first step.
Principles of Healthy Gambling
Set Limits Before You Start
Decide how much you can spend monthly on gambling without compromising essential expenses (rent, food, bills). That's your entertainment budget, like you'd spend on movies or dining out.
Establish time limit too. If you're spending 3+ hours daily gambling regularly, might indicate it's replacing other important activities.
Never Chase Losses
Golden rule: accept losses as cost of entertainment. If you lost €100, don't deposit €200 to "recover". Statistically, you'll just dig deeper hole. House edge exists; long-term, casino always wins.
Urge to chase is warning sign. When you feel urgent need to keep playing after losing, stop and breathe.
Gambling Isn't Income Source
Professional poker players or value bettors exist, but they're extremely rare and require years of study. For 99.9% of people, gambling can't be treated as job or investment.
If you're counting on casino winnings to pay bills, something's very wrong. Seek help immediately.
Maintain Life Balance
Gambling shouldn't dominate free time. Continue sports, socializing, hobbies unrelated to betting. If you notice friendships or family being neglected, that's red flag.
Control Tools Available at Twin
Access "Responsible Gaming" in your account menu to configure any of these options:
Deposit Limits
Set maximum you can deposit per day, week or month. System automatically blocks attempts exceeding this value.
Example: set monthly limit of €200. On day 10 you've already deposited €200. Try depositing another €50 on day 15 — system refuses. Can only deposit again next month.
Increasing limits: 24-hour waiting period (cooling off). Protects against impulsive decisions during tilt.
Reducing limits: applies immediately.
Loss Limits
Similar to deposit but based on net loss. If you set weekly loss maximum of €100 and reach that value, account restricted until next week.
More effective than deposit limit because considers winnings. If you deposited €100, won up to €300 then lost everything back to €0, net loss is €100 (not €300).
Session Limits
Maximum time per session. Set 2 hours; after 2 hours online, system forces logout. Prevents marathon gambling sessions that lead to poor decisions from fatigue.
Reality Checks
Popup appears every X minutes (you define interval) showing:
- How long you've been online
- Initial balance vs current
- Session net win/loss
Sometimes we lose track of time. This reminder helps maintain awareness of what you're doing.
Temporary Pause (Cool-Off)
Need break but don't want permanent closure? Activate cool-off for specific period: 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, 6 weeks.
During pause:
- Can't login
- Won't receive promotional communications
- Account remains intact; balance maintained
After period expires, can reactivate via email or chat. Useful when you feel need for temporary distance without permanent consequences.
Self-Exclusion
Most serious option. Closes account access for minimum 6 months, maximum permanent. Can't reverse during chosen period — neither you nor support can reopen.
Indicated when:
- Gambling causing serious financial problems
- Personal relationships suffering
- Trying to stop but can't do it alone
Twin also participates in multi-operator self-exclusion schemes. Can request blocking across all licensed platforms simultaneously (requires registration with services like GamStop or equivalents).
How to Activate Tools
- Login to your account
- Go to "My Account" → "Responsible Gaming"
- Choose tool you need
- Define parameters (amounts, periods)
- Confirm — some apply immediately, others after 24h
No penalty or judgment for using these tools. They're designed precisely to help you maintain control.

Problem gambling rarely appears suddenly. Develops gradually. These are warning signs:

- Borrowing money to gamble or cover losses
- Essential bills go unpaid because funds went to gambling
- Hiding bank statements from family/partner
- Selling belongings to finance play
Emotional and Behavioral Signs
- Think about gambling constantly, even when not playing
- Need to bet increasingly larger amounts to feel excitement
- Try to stop but can't for more than few days
- Feel irritation or anxiety when can't play
- Use gambling to escape problems or negative emotions
- Lie about how much time or money you spend
Social Signs
- Neglect work, studies or family responsibilities
- Isolation — avoid friends or family to gamble
- Frequent conflicts with partner/family about gambling
- Lost interest in hobbies you previously enjoyed
If you identify 3+ of these signs, time to seek help. Not weakness; it's treatable behavioral condition.

How to Help Someone with Gambling Problem
If you suspect family member or friend has problem:
Approach with Empathy
Don't accuse or criticize. Instead of "You're addicted, you're irresponsible", try "I'm worried about you. Noticed you've been gambling a lot lately. Is everything okay?"
Person may react defensively. Normal — addiction comes with shame. Stay calm and available.
Offer Concrete Help
Research resources before conversation. Can say "I found this helpline / support group. Want me to call with you?" Removing practical barriers makes first step easier.
Don't Lend Money
Difficult to refuse family member in trouble, but lending funds only prolongs cycle. Person uses it to gamble or cover gambling debts, continues pattern.
Instead, offer to help with family budget, accompany to treatment appointments, temporarily assume financial management (if person agrees).
Take Care of Yourself Too
Living with problem gambler is stressful. Don't neglect your own mental health. Groups like Gam-Anon (for family members) exist to support you.
Protecting Minors
Twin requires minimum age 18. System automatically blocks registrations from minors detected during KYC.
But if you have children or minors at home with device access:
- Use parental control software — NetNanny, Qustodio, Norton Family block gambling sites
- Don't save passwords in browser — prevents child accidentally accessing
- Monitor bank statements — unauthorized transactions may indicate minor use
- Open conversation about risks — education more effective than total prohibition without context
If you discover minor used your account, contact support immediately. Twin closes account and reverses transactions when proven minor use.
Twin's Commitment to Responsible Gambling
We implement policies to promote healthy usage:
- Responsible marketing — don't target minors, don't glorify excessive wins
- Staff training — support trained to identify problem signs and refer resources
- Proactive limits — system flags risky behavior (sudden high deposits, 8+ hour sessions) and suggests tools
- Transparency — publish self-exclusion and tool usage statistics quarterly
- Collaboration — work with organizations like BeGambleAware to improve practices
Profit isn't worth it if comes at cost of destroyed lives. We want players who have fun sustainably, not desperate users chasing losses.
If you need support but feel embarrassed contacting via Twin account, send anonymous email to [email protected]. Dedicated team responds confidentially and can activate tools without judgment.
Playing Consciously
Gambling can be fun when done thoughtfully. Set limits, respect them, never chase losses. If starts feeling like obligation or escape, stop and reassess.
No shame in admitting you need help. Thousands of people go through same thing. Resources are available, treatment works, life can return to normal.
Play because you want to, not because you need to. That's difference between entertainment and problem.
